The Work Equipment Directive has applied to all existing machines since 1 January 1997. This directive stipulates that an inventory must be created for all risks associated with these machines. The Work Equipment Directive is very closely tied to legislation concerning Health & Safety.

This legislation requires employers to only use safe and effective equipment. Employers have a duty of care when it comes to “persons, probity and property”. In other words, they must do everything that could be reasonably expected of them to offer safe equipment to their employees.

ESV is able to inspect your machinery or production facilities for compliance with the Work Equipment Directive. This means inspecting machines, which have not been issued a CE marking, to see whether they comply with requirements in the Directive. Compliance activities concerning the Work Equipment Directive can be perfectly combined with an RI&E.
